The Scottish Crannog Centre

Travel back in time to the Iron Age, 2500 years ago, and discover what life was like back then in Perthshire. The award winning Scottish Crannog Centre will provide plenty of fun and excitement for visitors young and old.

The centre aims to educate people about Crannogs and what it was like living on the loch thousands of years ago. It’s a hands-on learning experience which will make use of other senses too, with sights and smells inside the Crannog roundhouse enhancing the whole journey.

Expert guides will give informative talks, with demonstrations along the way. There are often special events on too with musicians, artists and other skilled workers recreating loch life from 2500 years ago.

The reconstructed Crannog will bring everything to life as the Iron Age guides give detailed, authentic accounts on how the Iron Age loch dwellers used to live and survive. You’ll be free to have a go at ancient crafts such as stone drilling and making fire by wood.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £7 for children, with family tickets available from £32. There are concessions for both seniors and students.

The centre is open from 10:00 am until 5:30 pm on a daily basis, and it’s recommended that you allow 1-2 hours for your visit.

Less than a mile away from Kenmore, you can get to the centre by car in just a few minutes, but the parking is shared. You can enjoy the fresh Scottish air with a short walk to the site.
