It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an expert, the Mains of Taymouth Stables welcome riders of all abilities. If horse riding is your thing or something that you fancy trying, look no further. The Mains of Taymouth estate, spread over 120 acres, allows riders to take in some truly glorious views as they ride. The forest tracks are accompanied by picturesque mountain and river landscapes.
The stables, which are family owned, provide lessons for people wishing to learn to ride, and they also provide horse training and schooling services. The fully qualified staff provide expert tuition, advice and instruction, making for a great all round experience. So if you’re just visiting the area or you’re around long term, the stables have you covered.
The pony rides last for approximately 30 minutes with horse trekking lasting one and two hours long in duration.
The trekking prices start at £20 for 30 minutes. A one-hour children’s ride is priced at £30, a one-hour adult ride is £35, and a two-hour ride for an experienced rider is £60. Lessons from the fully qualified instructors are £25 for 30 minutes, £45 for 40 minutes with a one-hour group booking of up to 5 people priced at £25.
The Mains of Taymouth Stables is located within walking distance of Kenmore, taking approximately 10 minutes on foot. It’s also accessible by car with free parking available on site.
The stables are closed on Monday’s all year round.
